The Things You Aren’t Told Often Enough in the ED Community:

1. LOOSE SKIN. EVERYWHERE. Your body cannot keep up with you starving yourself so your skin gets flabby and loose.

2. Too much water can actually kill you. Stay hydrated but don’t over do it.

3. I had found that my acne was getting worse when I wasn’t eating.

4. Fats and carbs are actually good for you as long as they aren’t eaten in excess.

5. Being a few hundred calories over your goal for the day WILL NOT make you gain.

6. Anyone who is pushing you to starve or otherwise harm yourself is toxic and need to get the hell out of your life.

7. DO NOT START PURGING. Not only is it addictive but it is harmful to your hands, mouth, esophagus and other organs.

8. DO NOT TAKE LAXATIVES AS A WAY TO GER RID OF A BINGE. Not only does it severely dehydrate your body but your body can become dependent on them to even have bowel movements and it can damage your organs.

9. You may make an Ugw but what tends to happen is you will always go for lower. The number won’t ever satisfy you.

10. Passing out while doing very mundane things isn’t normal.

11. Most, if not all of your relationships are completely fucked because you invest all your time and energy on your destructive tendencies.

12. You are constantly exhausted and can’t spend time with family/friends/significant others.

13. Seeking help doesn’t make you weak nor does it make your struggle less real. It makes serious courage to ask someone for help.

14. Your hair falls out in clumps, your nails are brittle and a strange color, your skin bruises with the slightest touches, you are always sore, you become captivated by your isolation.
