Things we shouldn’t have to say but I guess we have to
Please don’t use the word “retarded” as an insult
Please don’t say “kill yourself” as a joke
Please don’t say people who self harm are looking for attention
Please don’t say that you have to look a certain way to have an eating disorder
Please don’t manipulate people, especially when they’re emotionally vulnerable
Please don’t leave somebody in a moment where they have said they don’t trust themselves to be alone
Please keep in mind that you don’t know what people have gone through and that saying or doing these things doesn’t make you look cool or edgy. It just hurts the people who are suffering.
Please don’t say the N word because you want to look cool in front of your wanna be gangster friends. You live in the fuckin suburbs (and you’re far from black. It’s offensive). My dad grew up in a place where being shot at was regular, was in a gang, and even went to jail. He does not say it and you shouldn’t either. Struggling isn’t a fucking aesthetic.
